HWI Swim Team (SCAA) sent 60 swimmers to participate in this well organized and friendly meet, mainly from our Development squads. It was a good chance for younger swimmers to have a go at multiple events, including some 200m events. A few other HWI swimmers were competing too, representing their school teams. There was an ‘international’ feel to the competition as several teams from overseas entered, from Beijing, Tokyo, and the Philippines.
On Tuesday 13.2. in the evening, Siobhán Haughey took a bronze medal in the 100 m breaststroke final of the Doha Swimming World Championships. Her time of 1:05.92 improved her previous Hong Kong record achieved at the Hong Kong Open during December 2023.
All the HWI TOP Age Group Swimmers participated in this competition, and we were also fortunate to have our World Class Swimmers (Haughey Siobhan and Chillingworth Adam) in the team. A great learning experience for our younger swimmers to compete alongside the champions!
