3/29/2016

Ex Harry Wright swimmer Siobhan Haughey who recently moved to study and train at Michigan University participated in the NCAA Division 1 finals.

This top level US competition took place in the Atlanta Olympic Games Swimming Pool from March 16-19.

Siobhan played an instrumental part in a very successful Michigan campaign. She was on the block 12 times racing on all IM and all freestyle relays. Her biggest achievement in an individual event was a 5th place finish (NCAA All American honours) in the 200 yard freestyle in 1:43.35. This result bettered her ‘Big 10’ and University of Michigan Records. Siobhan made it into the consolation finals in the 200yard IM finishing in 12th place in 1:56.12 and the 100 yard freestyle finishing in 11th place in 48.26.

Big congratulations go out to Siobhan and the University of Michigan on their 10th place NCAA finish!

Siobhan Haughey's next big competition will be the Arena Pro Meet in Charlotte on May 12th - 15th where she will try and add qualifying times in the 100m and 50m freestyle for the Olympic Games in Rio. Good Luck Siobhan!!
