HWI Mantas Swim Team in Dubai

A Team of 13 HWI Swimmers representing Mantas attended the Hamilton Aquatics Summer Sizzler Meet at the Hamdan Aquatic Centre in Dubai on the 30th June 2017. The team flew into Dubai on Wednesday 28th June, the trip included pool training, land training, goal settings, education. The camp was a great learning experience for all swimmers involved the main objectives of the camp were;
  • An opportunity to experience team travel protocols.
  • Work on establishing team travel strategies.
  • Exposure to challenging racing conditions.

The meet was very successful in terms of performance with 79 personal best times throughout the meet and many medals.

Annika Chu, Ralph Lam, Temana Short and Xian Ma all participated in Skins” events.

(Skins is a series of heats in which each heat, the slowest swimmer is being eliminated in each round until an ultimate winner is found. With the fastest 8 swimmers competing on each events, there will be 7 heats in total. All skins events are 50m events.)
