With Christmas and Holiday season fast approaching, many of our swimmers had one more Hong Kong ASA meet to attend.

The Division 2 meet took place at Shing Mun Valley swimming pool. We had 17 swimmers competing in the morning and 28 swimmers competing in the afternoon. We also had 2 8 and under boys, Jayden Richardson – Bronze SCAA and Junhao Qui – Gold SCAA competing in their first Hong Kong ASA meet.

All swimmers who took part in the meet put their best foot forward with many swimmers making Division 1 qualifying time. What was also good to see from all the swimmers was an improvement in their swimming skills.

Some of the highlights from the Meet:
Ernest Wong was the stand out male swimmer of the meet. Taking part in 3 events, Ernest captured a Bronze in the 100 backstroke 1:08,38 and Bronze in the 50 Butterfly 29,48. He also swam a Division 1 Qualifying time in the 50 Breaststroke!
Ethan Grantham was another medal winner for the HWI-SCA team. Ethan swam a personal best time of 28,42 to take Silver in the 15/16 50 Butterfly.

We would also like to congratulate the following swimmers who placed top 8 and qualified for Division 1 in their events:
Nicole De Pree swam a 2:41,68 in the 200 freestyle and placed 7th over all in the 9/10 age group
Leila Pimlott swam a Division 1 qualifying time in the 100 back and placed 5th overall in the 9/10 age group
Kaitlyn Tang swam two Division 1 qualifying times in the 50 Breaststroke and 50 butterfly 11/12 age group
Sophia Tang competed very well at the meet. She managed to swim 2 x Division 1 qualifying times in the 50 Breaststroke and 200 Freestyle.
Tanisha Vashistha swam a Division 1 qualifying time in the 50 butterfly 11/12 age group
Aiden Gan has shown a lot of improvement and fight in his swimming; he swam a Division 1 qualifying time in the 100 backstroke 11/12 age group
Adam Graham placed 8th in the boys 11/12 200 freestyle and also swam a Division 1 qualifying time for the event
Ryan Phillips who has been training with Coach David and Kevin at the Australian International School, swam with great intensity in his races and qualified in the 200 freestyle for division 1 in the boys 13/14 age group
Kieran Kei Yin Tang who joined the HWI swim program over the summer and has shown great improvement in all his swimming strokes swam a Division 1 qualifying time in the 100 back stroke 9/10 age group
Barnaby Tibbatts showed great form at the Mantas meet and carried his great performance into this meet. Barnaby placed 8th in the 100 backstroke and swam a Division 1 qualifying time and as well as in the 200 freestyle 9/10 age group. We would like to also say a huge congratulations to all the swimmers who also participated in the meet: Ashley Botfield, Olivia Chen, Kate Cowell, Emilie De Chazel Natalie Ho, Tiqa Lee, Julianna Macalphin, Rebbeca Mak, Charlotte Mcfarland, Emily O’Dell, Lily Sheary, Emma Standing, Yuet Leon Chan, Olivia Chen, Matthew Frank, Pawis Jiwattanakul, Andre Ma, Hong Yi Lu, Matthew Mak, Emeric and Fabian Payer, Dylan Wong, Jayden Richardson and Junhao Qiu.

All of these swimmers have worked hard during the year and swam huge personal best times at the meet.
