HWI CHARITY GALA – ENTRY LIST Please see below information; For those parents kind enough to help out as TIMEKEEPERS – please report just inside the pool entrance at 5.45pm. Please note – we will use those parents who have older children in all or most events for timekeeping; I have contacted those by email already. This will save those with younger children having to stay at the meet until the end. We would like to request that all those watching help to CHEER ON ALL THE SWIMMERS! INFORMATION FOR HWI SWIMMING GALA SATURDAY 10TH DECEMBER VENUE – West Island School 1st event – 6PM Dear PARENTS; Thank you for entering the gala on Saturday 10th December - and for contributing to the Home of Loving Faithfulness! If you have sent your entry late by email or fax, please give in your payment to one of the coaches on arrival at the meet. Please find attached the ENTRY LIST. LET ME KNOW BY REPLY EMAIL if there is any mistake with your child’s name, age or events before Saturday – thankyou. Also – if your child would like to enter extra events, it is much easier if we know in advance! ALL THE SWIMMERS WILL RECEIVE A PARTICIPATION MEDAL after their first event. Please make sure your child has collected their medal. FOR those in the first 4 EVENTS – the width races for 4 & 5yr olds – PLEASE ASSEMBLE ON THE BENCHES JUST OUTSIDE THE POOL at 5.45pm – DOWNSTAIRS. After the width races, there will be a short presentation of a cheque to the representative from the Home of Loving Faithfulness ASSEMBLY POINT FOR ALL OTHER EVENTS IS IN THE MULTI PURPOSE HALL UPSTAIRS - 3nd floor at 6pm. Please wait here until the coach calls your child forward to be ‘marshalled’. After the WIDTH races, we will run all the 25m Freestyle events, followed by Backstroke, Breaststroke, and finally the Butterfly events It is very important that the competition is a positive experience and enjoyable for your child. Please encourage your child as much as possible – be understanding if they are nervous, and let one of the HWI staff know if there is any problem. NO OUTDOOR SHOES ON POOL DECK PLEASE! PARENTS must please watch their children from the 1st floor balcony – DO NOT COME INTO THE POOL DECK AREA unless you are helping with timekeeping etc. After the race please make sure your child goes back up to the gym to await their next race. PLEASE take care of children waiting for their races – respect the school premises! Medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall in the 25m events, will be given out in the hall after results have been finalized. PLEASE NOTE; if there is more than one heat in any age group, the fastest times will determine the medal winners – please explain this to children that may have won their ‘heat’ but do not get a medal. Once children have finished, please make sure that you take all your belongings with you, and please help to leave the gym in a tidy and clean condition.
