Siobhan Haughey and AIA Carnival Event

A group of HWI swimmers were recently invited to join an event with Siobhan Haughey at the AIA Carnival promotion. The company of Action House asked us to select 20 swimmers, and in turn we asked coaches to choose some swimmers from Gold squad. Those available were delighted to join the approx. 300 schoolchildren and elderly also invited to the event. It was held in The Grounds, under the Big Wheel. We were provided with free popcorn and soda throughout the afternoon, as well as enjoying the antics of some of the circus performers in costume. Siobhan was interviewed on stage by famous local DJ Sammy Leung, and one of our youngest swimmers, Sonia Chen was chosen to go up and ‘chat’ with Siobhan!! Sonia did a marvelous job – we were amazed by her confidence!! The event finished with a chance for each person to have a signed postcard by Siobhan, and of course a ‘selfie’!!
Many thanks to Siobhan! She is truly a star both in and out of the pool!
