Singapore Leg World Champs Update!

Hong Kong Swimming Shines at the Singapore Leg of the World Aquatics World Cup! 🏊♂️🇭🇰
The final stop of the World Aquatics World Cup series in Singapore (October 31 – November 2, 2024) has been a thrilling showcase of Hong Kong’s elite swimmers.
With standout performances from Adam Chillingworth and Siobhan Haughey, we’re excited to share their achievements, and especially proud that Harry Wright International coaches have played a part in coaching these fine athletes during their developmental years.
Adam Chillingworth continues to impress on the world stage with his perseverance and skill in the pool. In the highly competitive 200m Breaststroke, Adam clocked an impressive 2:06.17, surpassing the World Aquatics A Standard and officially qualifying for the World Championships in Budapest in the morning heats. This exceptional swim placed him fourth going into the evenings final. He now certainly is within reach of more to come.
In the evenings final he came 6th in 2:06.51. Adam also competed in the 50m and 100m Breaststroke events, finishing 19th with 28.25 in the 50m and 16th in the 100m with a time of 1:00.26, showcasing his resilience across multiple distances.
Siobhan Haughey, two-time Olympic bronze and silver medallist, displayed her signature grace and power with yet another dominant performance. Kicking off with a Bronze in the 50m Freestyle with a quick 24.00, Siobhan quickly shifted gears to capture the gold in her signature event.
She claimed victory in the 200m Freestyle, clocking an exceptional 1:51.80, and followed up with a silver in the 100m Freestyle, finishing with a fast time of 51.56. These wins mark a World Cup triple for Siobhan in the 200 m Freestyle and affirming her status as one of the world’s premier freestyle sprinters.
As these swimmers push their limits and represent Hong Kong on the world stage, we are proud of their achievements and the dedication they bring to their training. At Harry Wright International, we believe that the right guidance, continuous training, and a supportive environment are the key ingredients to nurturing swimming talent. Our coaching team is committed to helping swimmers of all levels unlock their potential, from aspiring young athletes to those competing on the world stage.
Keep tuned to HWI news to stay updated on our swimmers’ journey to the World Championships and beyond!
