Saturday 15th November:
Another exceptional day for the swimmers at the Shenzhen Universiade Aquatic Natatorium.
Siobhan Haughey added another Gold in the 100 m Freestyle to the Hong Kong Sports Federations overall medal haul.
Her 100 m Freestyle time of 52.89 was way too quick for all the other swimmers to keep up.
Ian Ho advanced to finals in his main event the 50 m freestyle by steadily making it from heats to semifinals in 22.62 and qualifying for tomorrow’s final as second fastest male in 22.24.
Unfortunately for Adam Chillingworth, he had received a DQ in his Breaststroke semi-final event, after clocking a great time of 2.11.91.
Sunday 16th November:
A fantastic performance saw Ian Ho grabbing the Gold for Hong Kong in the 50 m Freestyle in 21.71 (Hong Kong Record Time)!

TRIATHLON;
On Saturday, the HKG Triathlon team featuring HWI ex-swimmers Oscar Coggins and Robin Elg, had a brutal Individual race in the heat with very tough competition. (Individual event is 1500m swim / 40km bike / 10km run – 20 of the 48 starting could not finish!) Oscar bravely battled through to win the Bronze medal in the mens race, with Robin coming in 7th place. In the women’s race Hong Kong’s Cade Wright was just beaten into 4th place.
On Sunday in the Mixed Relay event; 4 athletes raced the much shorter distances, in this order: Cade – Robin – Bailey – Oscar.
A nail-biting race saw the HKG team claim the Silver medal position in the end. The race was held at the Central Harbour front in front of a very enthusiastic crowd!
